I am sure you have seen this on a billboard or license plate. I have seen it all over the place. Some of the things people find happiness in are sad and other things are not so bad, but I think when we settle for anything of this world for happiness we have souled ourselves short of true happiness.
I guess the first step would be to determine what you think happiness is? What do you think happiness is? One billboard said it was buying a coke or sweet tea for $1. The funny thing is that I have never went to a McDonald's and found them totally out and back ordered of coke or sweet tea. Some lies are easier then others to see. Only a fool would believe that billboard. And if your one of those, I am sorry.
The world is always going to sell short what true happiness is. The world will say it is good health, big house with a five car garage, winning the lottery, going on a vacation, and the list can go on and on. Think about it and you will be surprised what you really think happiness is.
Some think of happiness as no problems in life. Many people are full of happiness when things are going well, and then something bad happens. Maybe its going back to work after the vacation, maybe your child needs a diaper change, maybe you lost your job, maybe your child did something in the grocery store that embarrassed all of you. Life will always get in the way of worldly happiness. I say deal with it. As one has said it, "Life is hard and then you die!"
Happiness goes beyond yourself. Happiness is the Lord. For us its having an intimate relationship with the God that made the world and everything in it. Its knowing that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life! Its living on unseen things rather then on what we can see.

I like your typo- "Souled Out", we might have to think about using that somewhere.
Jesus gives us the list, in Matt. 5, of things that will truly make us happy, and there is no billboard anywhere trying to sell those things.
