"Pray until you pray"

I am reading "A Call to Spiritual Reformation" by D.A. Carson. I just finished reading chapter one. My take-a-way: learn and improve my prayer life! This last year our church had a Seminar on prayer. Its been good taking steps towards a life that is devoted to prayer. I am hoping to write down more questions and seek to grow more in my prayer life in 2010. I need to press forward and do something, rather then focus on my faults and do nothing. Above all, I am very excited about this book as I have heard very good things about it. May the Lord bless me in my prayer life and grow me to pray more in line with how I can link my prayers with Scripture.

If I am ever going to pray in line with the Puritan quote of "Pray until you pray", then I will have to give my whole heart to the duty of praying.

At the end of the chapter there are some questions for review and reflection.
D.A. Caron asks this question:

Q2. List practical ways in which you will commit yourself to improve your prayer life during the next six months.

Answer: Keep praying. Keep reading Scripture. Keep asking questions with others about prayer. Learn from watching and listening to other people. And most important would be to learn more about God through Scripture.

Chapter one from this book has good questions through out it, and most of which I hope to see how my prayer life will balance out within those questions. On the front end of this book I am very excited to read through it. May the Lord grant me wisdom and discernment with regards to my prayer life!

Please pray for me. I would be very thankful for them all:)
