Anticipating BIG things

I normally don't share my thoughts on things that I am hoping for, but maybe if I did it might get others around me excited also. Because I am excited about living Christian. My prayer is that God would give me a BIG heart for Him so that I can love others more. It feels like we are in a time when you can look all around and see a lot of knowledge but not a lot of love. And if your thinking with me you know what Paul had to say about this. He said, "without love we are nothing"! A life without love is a wasted life, and this life I will not waste!

God is love and without Him we can't love others. It just won't happen. But for Christians like me and you it can happen! Jesus Christ went to the cross to die for sinners like us so that way we can know love and share that love with others. Christ died for us so that we can live Christ today! We are not just looking to heaven, and trust me heaven will be awesome. But what about how we are to live now? Is our love for others any different then those in this world that don't know Christ?

Jesus tells us "For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?" If we Christians are living like those in the world that don't know Jesus then how are we going to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world? Is our life shining bright for Christ and His righteousness and Kingdom? Don't be conformed to the ways of this world!

I can love others BIGGER because of Christ's death for me. He paid for my sins in full and has forgiven me of all my debit! Hallelujah, Praise the Lord! I am free. And now as an ambassador for Christ, I have been commissioned to take His love for me and go and share it with the rest of the world. I am unworthy and Jesus still uses me for His name sake. We are gospel spreaders and this can only happen when we are loving God with all our being and then loving man as ourselves! If God is not the source of our love then we are loving in our flesh rather then the spirit.

The thing that helps me love others is seeing Jesus in them. God created us in His image. If we see Jesus in others then we will love others in a different way. Jesus even said to His sheep, "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

So I desire to have a bold and radical love for others. If I am seeking God with all my being then this love will transform my life and then in turn spread like gangrene and infect my home, my church, my community, my work, my small group, and everyone that comes in contact with me in this world. May God work BIG things in our hearts....so that we may go out and be bold and radical in our love for mankind! I have to think the church and world would be a different place if everyone would love as Christ loved us. Be proud to live Christian....even more when darkness surrounds you. Get excited....God is doing big things through His people....because that is how He works.

Big things; more than we can even ask or imagine, and I have a big imagination.
He has called and we must answer, so let's go do what He has called us to do and be radically following Him.
